As part its National Day #KitaTeguhBersama programme, Astro worked with NGOs, Food Aid Foundation and MakanKongsi2.0 to present daily essential packs to 800 B40 families in the Klang Valley.
The total packs weighing 8 tonnes comprising of food essentials such as rice, flour and sugar, among others, were donated by Astro staff as part of the company’s staff volunteer programme. Earlier in the month, Astro staff also volunteered their services at one of the national vaccination centre (PPV) in Klang Valley, playing their part in #KitaTeguhBersama.
Tammy Toh, Director, Group Marketing and Communications of Astro said: “It is a very special Merdeka and National Day for us this year and our theme, #KitaTeguhBersama means we’re stronger and better together. It is a reflection of the best of what we have seen in Malaysians and continues to be the common value we need for us to unite, recover and grow through these times. We are pleased to be able to work with Food Aid Foundation and MakanKongsi2.0 to help deserving families within our communities.”
